1/4 C. shortening
1/4 C. butter
1/2 C. sugar
1/2 C. brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 C. peanut butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg

Cream shortening; add butter, mix until fluffy. Gradually add sugar to lard. Add egg and beat well. Beat in peanut butter and vanilla. Mix and sift together flour, baking soda, salt. Add gradually to mixture while beating. Roll dough into balls about 1" round. Flatten onto cookie sheet by pressing down with fork. Bake at 400 degrees - 10 to 12 minutes.
