MR.FOODS' APPLE_TART

Serves: 6
2 tablespoons butter
1 can (20 ounces) sliced apples, drained
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup golden raisins
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
divided 6 single-serve graham cracker tart shells
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon granulated sugar Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add apples, brown sugar, raisins, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and cook for 2 to 4 minutes, or until sugar is melted and sauce is thickened. Spoon into tart shells; cover and chill for at least 2 hours. In a small bowl, beat heavy cream, granulated sugar, and remaining 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon until stiff peaks form. Spoon over the tarts and serve, or cover loosely and keep chilled until ready to serve. Note: This can also be made with fresh apples. Simply peel and thinly slice 2 to 3 apples then cook in the brown sugar mixture until tender. Air date: June 14, 1999. MR. FOOD, OOH IT'S SO GOOD!
